Best Night Ever

The fifth Romsey Lantern Parade, organised by

the Romsey Community Lantern Project, took

place on Friday 9th December, when about 1,000

local residents, adults and children, carried over

300 lanterns through Romsey, accompanied by

the Test Valley Brass Band and Mountbatten

Community Choir adding considerably to the

atmosphere of the late night shopping evening

organised by the Romsey Chamber of Commerce.

The theme was ‘From River to Sea’ which

provided a great opportunity for a variety

of shapes and sizes: jelly fish, trout, turtles,

transparent

fish,

lighthouses,

dragonflies, and more. Lanterns had

been made in workshops by groups

and schools in the Romsey area, run

by volunteers and local artists who

designed the lanterns and helped

to make them, making the whole

event a real community project,

with groups of all types and ages

taking part.
