Poppy People

The Totton & Eling Branch of the Royal British

Legion has raised £23,500 for the Royal British

Legion Poppy Appeal since the start of the 2016

Appeal in October.

One person who plays an

essential role in raising such a magnificent sum is

Julie Harding who lives in Ashurst. For the last 15

Julie Harding (centre) receiving the award from

Branch Chairman Alison Harbottle and

Poppy Appeal Organiser Ian Middleton

years Julie has collected for the Poppy Appeal

in Ashurst and at Hounsdown School, and

raised several thousand pounds during that

time. At the January Branch meeting the

new Chairman of the Totton & Eling Branch,

Alison Harbottle, presented Julie with a Poppy

Brooch and a letter of thanks to acknowledge

her hard work and dedication over the years.

The Poppy Appeal has been organised for

many years by Ian Middleton, and the Totton

& Eling Branch of the Royal British Legion

is always looking for volunteers to help raise

money in the local community. For more

information about volunteering for the Poppy

Appeal contact the Branch Secretary, Susan

Compton, on 023 8087 3143 or email susan@ compark.co.uk
