They are respectful to each other and behave well in and out of lessons.’ All parents who completed the online questionnaire Parent View said that they would recommend it to another parent. Principal Karen Godsall said: “I am delighted that we have achieved this good Ofsted rating. It is a proud moment for everyone. The Ofsted report really captures the essence of what we are about; inspectors were ‘greeted with smiles and a warm welcome’ and students ‘relished talking about their learning and the positive changes they had seen in the school over the years’. That’s why I enjoy leading New Forest Academy: there is a real sense of community achievement. At the same time, we are ambitious and we will continue do everything that we can to make New Forest Academy a beacon of excellence as we move forward”. OFSTED SUCCESS Continued from front Totton Communicare Totton Communicare would like to thank Kath Warland, who after over 30 years with the group, has decided to call it a day. In recognition of her service, Kath was presented with a certificate and flowers by Hampshire County Council ‘Good Neighbours Network Scheme’ as well as a gift token by her Communicare colleagues. Totton Communicare is a voluntary organisation which provides a service to the local community by driving people who would have difficulty using public transport to and from hospital and other medical appointments (ie dental and GP). The customer/client pays the driver 45p per mile (for the entire journey) which is considerably less than the cost of a taxi and which covers the cost of the driver’s fuel and wear and tear of the car. The group are looking for volunteer drivers who live in or around the Totton area. Anybody interested should telephone the office number on 023 8066 0200. Kath Warland
