We are so lucky to have a centre like this on our doorstep. ere is a lovely bright and airy seated corner where and emotions. e complementary therapies are designed to help you relax and focus on your well- being. e services provided by quali ed therapists are: massages, manicures, aromatherapy, pedicures, re exology, facials and reiki. A diagnosis of Cancer can be a shock and have a profound e ect on a person’s life. If this happens to you, allow the centre to help you with their support, while the medics do their best with your clinical approach. Wessex Cancer Support Centre is there for you, to hold your hand whilst listening and supporting. For a warm welcome or further information on the centre and services they o er please contact the centre at e Grove, St. John’s Street, Hythe, SO45 6BZ or call: 023 8178 0409. e centre is open from 10am until 4pm Monday to Friday. a befriender. e centre believes that everyone living with cancer should have a local place to go to get the support they, or their family need, when they need it, and having a drop in service available where no appointments are necessary and trained befrienders are on hand to support is the way this works. ey provide support to cancer patients, close to their home in a friendly environment and provide information to assist everyone to understand about cancer, prevention, causes and treatments. Counselling and Complementary erapies are available at the centre but these must be booked for in advance. Trained Counsellors are available to help you work through the impact of a cancer diagnosis. A counsellor could help you nd di erent ways of coping that hadn’t occurred to you. e con dentiality could assist you to be open and honest about issues visitors are able to sit down for a cup of tea and take time out to look out at the lovely view of the Waterside. ere is another area in the room with 2 chairs speci cally for those who wish to have some quiet time or for re ection or chat on a one to one basis with e poppy ladies are starting their next project which will be for Calshot RNLI in July 2020. ey have some funds for wool, but they also like to include the community (when they can). If you would like to donate a new ball of double knit wool, or you have any double knit wool that you no longer need, they would be very grateful. At the moment they are looking for any bright colours of double knit. If you would like to donate this to the group, please take it along to the Jewellers in Hythe (J Collins & Son), who have once again agreed to be their drop o point. e ladies are also looking for metal knitting needles too (not too thick). If you still have some, please take them along to the Jewellers too. ank you in advance.
