We can also collect your own grab bags Exbury Gardens in the New Forest is celebrating the win of a major landscape award for its new Centenary Garden. Designed by Marie-Louise Agius, great grand-daughter of Exbury’s founder Lionel de Rothschild. The garden was unveiled last year to celebrate the famous attraction’s 100th anniversary. Exbury Gardens Celebrates Award Win A prestigious BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) National Landscape Award has now been scooped for the project by the contractor who built the garden, PC Landscapes. ey worked closely with Exbury head gardener omas Clarke and his team constructing the garden, which was o cially opened last summer by HRH the Prince of Wales. e BALI Awards are the largest and most prestigious landscaping awards in Europe. News of the win comes as Exbury unveils plans for its 2020 programme. It will be encouraging visitors of all ages to learn more about the natural world this year with a programme of wildlife-themed activities, as well as a new Dragon y Pond education area and steam railway stop. Building on the success of its 2019 centenary, the 200-acre woodland garden will be running a Wild Exbury programme of events thorughout the season until Sunday 1st November 2020. Visitors will get the chance to track wildlife around Exbury, learn bush cra skills, pond dip, and identify rare plants and trees, as well as native wild owers.
