Remarkable as this is, Oliver has sourced the materials required and paid for them himself out of his small company - from the pro t he makes from pocket hugs which he designs and creates then sells online; these customisable “pocket hugs” cost just £2.50 each and are perfect for putting through the door of a loved ones in this time of isolation and social distancing - see www.facebook.com/ aminphotos All the PPE have been donated FREE of charge to anyone who needs them. is includes: Southampton General A&E, Local Special Needs School, Southampton Mental Health, local care homes, Oakhaven Hospice, Southampton General Radiology (CT, MRI etc.) Local carers, Local Community Hospital, District Nursing Team, Princess Anne Hospital, Totton Community Response Team, and Lymington Hospital. So far Oliver has donated 1,250 ear protectors, and 150 visors. Oliver is an amazing young man with a big heart, who just wants to help do what he can to support the Frontline workers in the NHS, and Community. Lisa Carr, Youth Worker at Fawley Parish Council said: “ He is an asset to Fawley Youth club, and we are all so proud of him and his endeavours to help others in these unprecedented times”. Oliver has been advised to set up a ‘Go fund me page’ so he can continue his good work and Fawley Parish Council has donated £100 to this very worthy cause to start him o . A er already making 750 ear protectors and 50 protective visors, Oliver is looking to raise £250 to continue making this equipment so if you would like to donate please visit his page www.justgiving.com/ crowdfunding/olivershepherd Oliver Shepherd is 16 years old, and a young volunteer for Fawley Parish Council. He and his friends were the rst members of Fawley Youth Club when it opened in April 2017. He became a volunteer a year later, and has continued his support now that he attends Brockenhurst College.
