On ursday 25th June Oakhaven Hospice Chairman, Professor Paul Dodson, cut a ribbon to o cially open the shop. Looking on with pride and anticipation (socially distanced, naturally) was shop manager Kira Pink, assistant manager Sally Bignell and a small team of volunteers. e new charity shop is located at 13 Commercial Road and will be open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm. It is already displaying a fantastic selection of ladieswear, menswear, accessories and ornaments. Recommended Oakhaven Hospice Opens Charity Shop in Totton Oakhaven Hospice Chairman, Paul Dobson, opens the new charity shop in Totton, with assistant manager Sally Bignell, shop manager Kira Pink, Retail Manager Ann Newton and volunteer Pauline social distancing measures are in place at the shop, with markings to limit the number of people inside, hand sanitiser on entry and all donated goods quarantined for 72 hours before going on display. Professor Dodson said: “We are delighted to be opening our new charity shop in Totton, Oakhaven Hospice has been providing the Totton community with a wide range of services for over two years at the request of the NHS Clinical Commission Groups and we currently care for about 110 people from Totton each year. As well as palliative care at home and in the hospice, Oakhaven provides support groups, counselling, therapies and wellbeing services to patients and those impacted by illness and bereavement.” e shop provides the Totton community with Continued on page 3
