Always with jobs to be done to make the Shed better as well as proceeding with the repair work on the Hythe Pier Railway carriage No.4 in conjunction with the Hythe Pier Heritage Association (HPHA). e Shed has been repainted and is looking smart with a restored planter in full bloom throughout the summer; a second one is ready, but is short of topsoil so if anyone has any spare the Men’s Shed would very much appreciate it. Having made and successfully o ered up a so wood trial side frame for the carriage, one was assembled in Iroko and xed into position along with a new base for the support of the rear panels. Work will continue into the autumn although with scones freshly baked from one of the member’s wife has, and will mean, the occasional downing of tools! Founders, Allan Fairhead, along with his fellow councillor Simon Lodge, have been nominated by the Parish Council as representatives to the HPHA Board.
