Letters against Loneliness is a unique project hoping to combat isolation and bridge the generation gap in the Waterside area of Southampton during the Coronavirus pandemic. Heidi Rehman, Health and Wellbeing Coach for the Waterside Primary Care Network said: “We are acutely aware that loneliness and isolation has a detrimental effect on both our physical and mental health, and the second lockdown will have once again led to many members of our community feeling cut off from friends and families.” Infant, Junior and Primary Schools in the Waterside area were approached by the Health and Wellbeing Team to arrange for local school children to draw pictures, write letters or make cards for Blackfield pupils get creative to tackle loneliness in the community Continued on page 3
