Stretching along the coast, e Solent Way is a 60-mile footpath linking Milford on Sea with Emsworth Harbour, with much of the path following the Hampshire coastline and passing through our beloved New Forest. Mary has dedicated 26 years to the Hythe and District Inner Wheel, following their values of Friendship, Fellowship and Service and together with the other members of the club, raised huge sums of money and awareness for local, national, and international causes over the years. Motivated by a personal experience of family and friends who have battled with cancer, Mary achieved her target of completing the 60 mile hike in six weeks. Taking in the breath-taking views across the water to the Isle of Wight, the terrain was varied with many of the shingle beaches rough underfoot, even with the best of walking boots! e nature reserves however were stunning, with good information points giving details of the wildlife that can be seen in all the areas.
