Her name is Ashleigh Mutimear, but many may know her simply as the lady who is ‘Saving our Ferry’. A few months back Ashleigh decided she wanted to do something big to get everyone talking, something that would get the ‘Save our Ferry’ campaign to the forefront of everyone’s minds, something that hadn’t been done before – that’s when Ashleigh decided that she was going to ‘Walk the Pier’ for 24 hours. When you meet Ashleigh, it’s easy to see she’s a lady on a mission; knowing instantly that she would be the person to get everyone’s attention. She certainly did just that. Saturday 1st May brought with it calm seas and beautiful blue skies – the perfect backdrop for the ‘Walk the Pier’ challenge.
