It will be a while before the nal amount raised will be realised but it is hoped it will surpass the £7500 raised in 2019 and make up for the loss of the 2020 event due to the pandemic. e fundraising purpose of the event was of course important, but equally so this year was the raising of community spirit a er the recent lockdowns. Hythe Pier Heritage Association put a great deal of e ort and organisation into Rock the Pier 2021 and it was clear the community rose to it. HYTHE ROCKED! On Saturday 11th September on Hythe Promenade, Hythe Pier Heritage Association (HPHA) held their latest Rock e Pier event. New local community group the Scratch Project were very happy to be the headline sponsor for this fantastic event. e aim of the day was to rst and foremost put on a great day for the local community by way of a free music festival. Secondly to raise much needed funds and awareness for the HPHA campaign to save and restore the historic and much loved Hythe Pier. e Scratch Project were very keen to get involved with this event due to the romance and history surrounding Hythe Pier, a structure dear to all our hearts. is is the rst of many local good causes that the Scratch Project will be supporting. We are a group of local small businesses, who provide great service for their customers and also work together to group fund local good causes.
