Our teams were able to ask questions about his personal highlights, difficulties that he has faced, advice on how to stay motivated and focused on tasks and long term goals. The children were in awe of his eagerness to answer such tough questions but you could also see how much they looked up to this athlete who is a perfect example of what is possible when you apply yourself and put the hard work in. We know this is a memory that will stay with these children for many years to come and as a school we couldn’t be more thankful to Southampton F.C and Jack Stephens for making this happen.” Friday 17th December was a crisp and cold night, but it didn’t deter nearly four hundred people from enjoying the return of Hythe Marina Carols organised by the Hythe Marina Association. e ever-popular New Forest Brass Band led residents and members of the public in the hearty singing of many favourite carols in the Marina Square, enhanced by the Beaulieu Warblers, Sounds Easy Singers, Melody Makers, the Marina Singers and the stars of the evening, the children of Hythe Primary School Choir. e evening was in support of the locally based Honeypot Children’s charity that gives respite and support for children aged 5 to 12 who are full-time young carers. A collection at the event raised £770 for the charity. A very enjoyable evening concluded with mulled wine generously provided by the marina’s Boathouse Hotel and restaurant.
