March will then see Testwood Lake Sailability start to prepare by getting the dinghies on the water to check that all is ok. Any defects found will be resolved so that all is safe and ready for use for the 2022 sailing season. e pontoon will need to be cleaned so it is safe to use. is is normally a full day job for a group of volunteers. Refresher training in all aspects of the service will be carried out by all of the volunteers so that all are ready for the rst day of sailing on Monday 4th April . e operation is run totally by volunteers who are to be found at the lake as early as 8am every Monday and ursday from April to the end of October with sailing starting at 10am. People of all ages (min of 8 years) and having any disability can experience Dinghy Sailing at Testwood Lake, Totton. Sailing can really open up new opportunities, new interests, is liberating and can awaken the senses. e sensation of the breeze on the face, excitement as the wind lls the sails taking the boats across the lakes, wildlife, jumping sh - all things that bring smiles to faces, joyful experiences, old memories back for some, and brings sailors back to the lakes!
