Since the start of the con ict in the Ukraine, the response from the local community has been incredible from collecting and donating essential items to send to the Polish border, to making up shoeboxes for children. Harveys of Hythe wanted to help the refugees and set up a collaboration with the Polski Club, Southampton, who were sending vans across to the Polish borders. The family-run shop was set up as a local collection point. Over the space of a week they had collected, sorted and delivered tens of thousands of items daily with the help of 10 volunteers in the shop, and drivers with vans and cars transporting.
