It was most de nitely a treat, lots of festive touches and sparkle. e rst display was on a geometric stand using bio foam which is more ecologically friendly. Phoenix palms lightly sprayed gold, also Ivy, Hebe and Fatsia which were le natural. Just yellow mini Gerbera accompanied by gold baubles on sticks and other small gold bits and pieces. Very striking and there was another mirror image that Jennifer had prepared earlier, the two together really looking like Christmas had arrived. Design number two was a low container on a black stand. Aqua Roses and Carnations in pink with sprays of Clematis made a pretty arrangement, which also had silver berries and angel hair accompanied by small silver Poinsettias. A treat when Jennifer produced two more! Next came a snowy e ect which was on a silver base with white Roses and white Crysanthemums, Pittosporum and Ivy being the greenery. While the nishing touches were added they listened to “Let it Snow “. A song written somewhere in America that is always hot apparently. ere was a small lit up reindeer on the stage without a sleigh so this was recti ed by the next design. Roses in two varieties accompanied by Skimmia and white tipped r cones made a rst class sleigh. ey then had another gold themed arrangement with Palms, Ferns and Fatsia. Red Anthurium called Tropical, well named as they certainly looked exotic. Red and pink Roses were incorporated along with red baubles on sticks. Another treat as they had a twin of this one as well. eir nal Christmas Treat was an Urn with Pine, Ivy and rose hips from the garden. Bright red Ilex set o a dramatic orchid and red silk Poinsettias. All of the designs certainly got everyone in the Christmas spirit, as they had tea, Christmas cake and mince pies that feeling was reinforced. eir next meeting is on 12th January, a demonstration by Claire Delmage entitled ‘Food Glorious Food’.
