A stableford competition played o the blue tees, all competitors are required to use their putters for their tee shots on the 130 yard 13th hole. is is because Mark was renowned for doing just that. e weather was very cold and overcast however this did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of the 35 Seniors who competed. John Pickering blazed round the course nishing with 44 points to win the Mark Hooper Plate. John also came very close to winning the nearest the pin shield, however his 140 yard putt o the 13th tee was just a tad too long, so Steve Lupton claimed that prize with a 132 yard putt that ended up just 15 feet from the hole. A er the competition, everyone relaxed in the clubhouse to enjoy a tasty bowl of sausage and chips generously provided by Mark’s widow, and prizes were presented by Peter Harvey, a great Left to Right: Trophy Winners John Pickering and Steve Lupton friend of the family. All in all it was a highly enjoyable morning and a tting memorial to a much missed gentleman who always wanted the fun to stay in golf. Division 1: 1st Steve Lupton – 42 pts, 2nd Chris Angell – 41 pts and 3rd Charlie Tabor – 40 pts. Division 2: 1st John Pickering – 44 pts, 2nd Ted Groves – 37 pts and 3rd Neil Edmondson – 36 pts.
