The Abbey Choir, conducted by Professor George Richford will be joined for the rst time by e Pelham Band, a new professional ensemble set up in memory of Michael Pelham who sadly passed away last year. ey will sing music for Good Friday including Pergolesi’s devastating ‘Stabat Mater’ and Bach’s beautiful Cantata number 12 in a 1 hour concert in a dimly-lit and evocative Abbey Church. Soloists will be drawn from the professional Abbey Choir who are causing quite a stir in the local area. Members of the Pelham Band include the very best local players, Tiggy Brearley on Oboe, Charlotte Gallagher on violin, George Castle on continuo and Jack Bond on double bass, amongst others.
