Barratt Homes’ Southampton division held an online auction-style event, encouraging bidders to give a donation in exchange for a furniture item of their choice. Buyers could choose from small items and accessories, like wall art, mirrors and cushions as well as larger items such as beds, wardrobes and tables, which came with a minimum donation of £50. All furniture was as-new and had been gathered from Barratt’s show homes from across the region – so it was a great chance to grab a bargain and support a local cause. All proceeds from the show home furniture sale went directly to Southamptonbased organisation, No Limits – an independent charity that supports vulnerable children and young people. No Limits provides vital information, advice, counselling and support to people aged 26-and-under through a range of services available ‘under one roof’. e organisation also strives to create awareness of young people’s rights and responsibilities while acting as an advocate for them. Barratt Homes is committed to supporting local causes in the areas in which it is building, and chose No Limits to bene t from the furniture fundraiser a er donating £1,000 to the charity last year as part of its community fund. It was then when the developer had the opportunity to see rst-hand some of the important work the charity is doing in the community. Kat Hutchings, Fundraising O cer at No Limits said: “We are so grateful for the money Barratt Homes has raised for our charity. This generous donation will be vital for our teams across Hampshire and will mean we can continue to support vulnerable children and young people, particularly over the winter period where many are facing homelessness and financial struggles due to the cost-of-living crisis.” Tammy Bishop, Barratt Homes Sales Director, Southampton Division, said: “Thanks to the generosity of the community, we’re thrilled to have raised this significant sum for No Limits. We would like to thank everybody who bought an item from the auction, your support will be helping out an extremely worthwhile charity in the region.” No Limits was set up in 1993, when it was realised that young people needed somewhere to go for information, advice and counselling. e charity employs 120 sta and has support from a further 100 students and volunteer workers. Barratt Homes is committed to supporting organisations that improve the life for people in the areas in which it is building and is bringing new homes to Hampshire.
