House Manager, Pat and her team laid on an amazing spread of freshly prepared food and refreshments for everyone. ey were fortunate that the sun came out and residents and guests were able to enjoy the beautiful House surroundings. Cllr Parker spent an hour speaking with residents and guests whilst tucking into the freshly baked cakes and sandwiches. Residents take a keen interest in the local community and were interested in meeting Beth, who is the Manager of Romsey Food Bank. Abbey eld House cook, Lorraine, volunteers at the food bank each week and invited Beth to tell the residents the incredible work they do. Each year, the House chooses a local charity to support and learn more about the organization. is year has been no di erent and residents donated both food and money to Romsey Food Bank for their summer appeal. Abbey eld House is part of e Abbey eld Wessex Society, a charity providing housing for retired independent people. Abbeyfield House also hosts events for the local retired community, such as co ee mornings and quiz a ernoons. Residents with Cllr Parker Romsey Food Bank Visit Braishfield Ukulele Music Society (BUMS) are hosting sing along sessions for those with dementia on 18th September and 16th October, 2.30pm to 4pm, in All Saint’s Church Room, Braish eld, Romsey, SO51 0QH. All are welcome to take a carer, friend or partner. Song sheets and refreshments provided. e event is free but donations are welcomed to cover expenses.
