Genevieve and the other car from the iconic movie, Spyker, will be on display in the museum over the summer, and Genevieve will be in the Collections Centre for the evening for the Transport Torque. In 1930 he was hired by Cecil Kimber, the managing director of MG Cars, to team up with the marque to which he would remain loyal. John Mayhead has written a biography of the Goldie Gardner, which is published by National Motor Museum Publishing in September. President Henley, welcomed 24 members, which included 1 new member, to the 412th meeting, Membership is now 27 members. Future events planned for the Club were: Excursion by the tourist and regular Bus services for Lunch in Fordingbridge on 18th August; Possible Christmas lunch at ‘Le Chateau’ in early December; Potential trip on Solent Dolphins ‘Alison MacGregor’ (now postponed to next year); Lunch at MJ’s (Brockenhurst College) 10th November. e meeting concluded with a very informative talk ‘Salvage master’ by Kevin Parience. Kevin quali ed early as deep sea diver, and his rst venture into salvage was to purchase ships abandoned on reefs or aground, and recover his purchase by the salvage value of the hull. In his talk Kelvin explained the techniques used to salvage sunken vessels and barges. Most of his work was in the Arabian and Persian Gulfs, where maritime seamanship and safety standards were somewhat more relaxed, not in accordance with MCA rules.
