A warm welcome was waiting for members of Hythe and Waterside Rotary when they paid a visit to Newhouse Farm in East Boldre. is amazing farm use a multi-national team of workers for their so fruit growing business, where they grow, pack and distribute their fruit to leading UK supermarkets. With the help of a tractor and trailer, Rotarians were treated to a guided tour of the glasshouses and polytunnels to see a table top system for growing strawberries so they can be picked without backbreaking bending. ey also use a crop support system which increases the number of plants per Funnybones Fun at Mottisfont Original artwork from Janet and Allan Ahlbergs’ much–loved Funnybones is on show in the gallery at Mottisfont until 5th November. A digital talk provided by the Patriot New Build Project, tracing the history of the locomotives and the trials and tribulations of building a new one which has been ongoing since 2008. Di erent from the talk for RCNF on 26th April 2013 when they hoped to have it ready by 2018 and then embarrassingly missed both that date plus the ones in 2019 and 2020 to mark 100 anniversaries with connections to WW1 by big margins. Much has happened since and they have de nitely turned a corner now and have the right people involved to have it ready for 2026 (maybe!).
