All of the poppies used to create the displays are hand made and donated by members of the general public coming together to pay tribute to the armed forces. So go along to Lepe Country Park from 27th October to be part of something special. Last year’s Poppy Wave at Lepe Dibden Churches Remembrance Sunday Services An all Age Remembrance Service, including a poppy cra for children will take place at St Andrew’s Church in Dibden Purlieu at 10.30am. All Saints’ Church, Dibden will have a Remembrance Service at 10.45am including an Act of Remembrance at the Lych-Gate War Memorial. A Short Service of Remembrance will be held at the New Hythe War Memorial Hospital at 12noon. e Poppy Appeal in Hythe will be launched with the help of Hythe Army Cadets and Air Cadets on Saturday 28th October, organised by the new Poppy Appeal Organiser for Hythe, Graham Charles, it is hoped that there will be military vehicles scattered around Hythe. Quiz in Aid of the Poppy Appeal e Fawley District Poppy Appeal are holding a quiz at the Royal British Legion Club in Exbury Road, Black eld on Friday 3rd November at 8pm. It will be a fun night. Not only is there a prize for the winning team, but there is a chance to win individual “spot” prizes. Entry fee is £10 per team (maximum 4 players). Entry is open to everyone; you do not need to be a member of the club to go along; however, entry restrictions may apply. ey will also be holding a raffle will several assorted prizes. Please go along and support this event as all funds raised will go directly to the Poppy Appeal. ROCK FOR REMEMBRANCE FS Events Ltd – who run the popular Fawley Show at Gang Warily and other music events in the area, will be putting on Rock for Remembrance at the Royal British Legion, Black eld on Saturday 4th November. Graham Charles, Director of FS Events wanted to put on a small event as a way of remembering the fallen that would be poignant but not too formal. e line up booked for the event will include a great new duet called Reminice who have played at many events throughout the summer in pubs and clubs, Empty Frets and the headline band will be the amazing Recluse a Southampton rock cover band. Doors open at 5.30pm, with bands starting from 6pm. Entry will be by donation on the door in return for a poppy. All profits from Rock for Remembrance will go to the British Legion Poppy Appeal. For more information please visit: facebook.com/ events/335933128816657 REMEMBRANCE SERVICES AND PARADE IN TOTTON The Annual Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal starts in Totton on Saturday 28th October. ere will be an Armistice service at Totton Memorial starting just before 11am on Saturday 11th November and the Annual Remembrance Parade will take place on Sunday 12th November, assembling from 9.30am. Volunteers are needed to help collect in Asda Totton and elsewhere. Poppy Wreaths are also available for a donation to the Poppy Appeal. Hythe Remembrance Service and Parade A Remembrance Service suitable for all ages is taking place at St John’s Church in Hythe on Sunday 12th November at 10.30am. Over ow seating will be available in St John’s Hall opposite the church. Following the service the Royal British Legion will be leading a parade to Prospect Place for a short outdoor service and wreath laying.
