Mike Sibbons, SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity’s Hampshire Branch Chair, presented the Sir James Gildea Award to Dale, on behalf of the LordLieutenant of Hampshire. Mike said: “I am proud to read the following citation: You were nominated for your excellent support to Hampshire Branch awareness and fundraising events for over the past five years. Your sheer dedication and commitment have not only raised the profile of SSAFA at countless Hampshire events, but also helped to raise many thousands of pounds in donations. I would like to pass my sincere thanks and appreciation on behalf of the whole SSAFA team.” Dale said: “I am honoured and excited to receive this award – thank you!” e Sir James Gildea Awards exist to recognise Mike Sibbons presenting Dale Lansley with her Sir James Gildea Award volunteers and employees of SSAFA for exceptional contribution and commitment to the charity’s activities and values. St Barbe Launch Ukraine Knitting Campaign for Winter If you are able to knit your skills would be appreciated by St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery in Lymington, they are collecting knitted items to pass on to those in need in Poland and Ukraine. If you are a knitter could you knit any of these items to send to Poland and Ukraine? • Gloves, mittens, hats and scarves • Socks for adults • Baby layettes for gi boxes for newborns • Baby blankets (without holes so that little ngers and toes can’t get caught) • Winter clothes for children – all sizes • Knitted toys including small toys to t into shoe boxes • Twiddle mu s • Large knits such as blankets • Hot water bottle covers • Or donate wool for knitting projects Take your knitted items to St Barbe and they will give them to New Forest for Ukraine ready to be taken to Poland and Ukraine.
