By the nal episode, I wasn’t a fan of the very contrived plot, but I must admit that the programme did show two particular things commendably well: Firstly, the impact of the unexpected death on the family was portrayed believably. e reveal of the ‘unorthodox’ Will fractured the surviving family relationships in a very plausible way - the siblings got on reasonably well to start with, but the hard reality of dealing with the Will broke them apart by the end. Secondly, the lives of the siblings involved were all revealed to be more complicated than met the eye. is is so o en the case with families and can dictate how parents’ Wills are dra ed. While parents generally tend to split things equally between their children, the series showed that o en there are very good reasons to avoid doing the most obvious thing in a Will. Channel 5 also recently aired a documentary series called “Inheritance Wars: Who Gets the Money”. I felt this was a much better programme overall because it didn’t need to dramatise the real-life stories. It showed you some of the most famous cases to ever hit the English courts and did not pull its punches showing how much the disputed Wills a ected the lives of the people involved. With more and more real life estates being challenged, having a Will properly dra ed by a Solicitor is your rst line of defense. Our ethos for both now and the future is so well aligned, it made sense to join forces, and the housebuilder’s support enabled us to reach out to many more organisations ahead of this year’s event. A huge thank you to Barratt and to Oliver, who went down a storm in our 2023 Keynote Speaker Theatre.” With more than 100 exhibition stands that brought together sustainable experts, products, technologies, and services that can help businesses make eco-conscious decisions, a fantastic speaker line-up, along with education workshops, the Expo was a runaway success.
