As the year turns into autumn, winter preferred lies are permitted, if a players ball lands on the fairway he is allowed to mark it, pick it up and clean it, then replace it withing six inches of the marker no nearer the pin, without penalty. is is allowed as balls can pick up mud from the ground which could a ect the next shot. However, the rule does not apply if the ball is in the rough (the moral is ‘stay on the fairway’). e results were: Division One: 1st Stuart Bulbrooke 38, 2nd Barry Walker 35, 3rd Doug Dearden 34; Division Two: 1st Johnny Hooper 37, 2nd Graham Blomfield 35, 3rd Michael Webb 35; Division ree: 1st David Wyatt 36, 2nd John Yapp 36, 3rd Keith Cartwright 34. Monday 16th October was another typical autumn morning and 37 Bramshott Seniors were ready to play another Stableford quali er. e course was holding up well but slightly more damp, thus shortening the run of the ball. is didn’t deter the Bramshott Seniors and they set forth with expectations of good scores. e results were: Division One: 1st Paul Wastell 36, 2nd Nigel Trickey 35, 3rd Robert Hallett 35; Division Two: 1st John Bailey 38, 2nd John Manning 37, 3rd Ray Dunkason 32; Division ree: 1st Dave Wyatt 38, 2nd Brett Parr 34, 3rd Paul Baker 33. On Wednesday 18th October an away interclub match was arranged against Chilworth Golf Club. Sadly, a er taking note of the weather and the approaching storm Babet, it was decided by the two captains to cancel the match. is would have been their last interclub match of the season, so they will now have to wait until next year to partake in these very enjoyable matches once again. Interclub match results 2023 season: Out of the 25 matches Bramshott Seniors had arranged for the season: four games were cancelled for various reasons, three games were drawn, ve games were lost and thirteen games were won. By any standard this was a successful season for Bramshott Hill Seniors led by their Captain Mike Wells. ey look forward to next season when their captain will be Dave Wilson. Will Dave be able to improve on Mike’s success, watch this space!
