Her talk, entitled ‘Mysteries, histories, oddities and nefarious goings-on in the New Forest through time’ was lled with tales of the discoveries of Iron Age and Roman coins, poaching, smuggling and ghost sightings as well as famous names associated with the area such as Brusher Mills, Alice Lisle and William Rufus. H&W President Jim Whitehouse said: “We all know how beautiful the New Forest is and how lucky we are to live here, but these stories are certainly intriguing and we have enjoyed Sheila’s visit very much”.
