A new year o en brings resolutions and promises of lifestyle changes or learning a new skill or countless other ideas of change. One part of your life that could de nitely be on the move could be your nancial situation. We o en nd that people want to forensically take a look at their nancial situation when they nd themselves at a crossroads. Whether they have lost their job, got divorced, received an inheritance or just want to know when they can retire. We also sometimes nd that another ‘crossroads’ moment can be when someone close to you su ers tragedy and sadness, this can change people’s perspectives. A plan that was in place for say age 65, suddenly gets explored as something that could happen at age 60. We had a scenario a while back in just this same situation. Clients had a family member who was diagnosed with a serious illness, and this caused a reaction in them which prompted them to ‘bring forward’ their plans for age 65 to age 60 as the family members illness changed their mindset. It made them think maybe if we wait until age 65 our ‘dream’ may not be achieved. is is human nature to feel this way and a feeling and process I have seen on several occasions in my near 27 years of advising. My question to everyone reading this is: What are your future plans that more than anything you want to achieve and enjoy during your lifetime? What is on ‘your Bucket List’ and why don’t you explore achieving these now? Don’t wait until you receive some bad news to act! All of your ambitions could be possible today!
