Division 2: 1st Colin Bailey – 23 pts, 2nd Charlie Hughes – 22 pts (back 3=7), 3rd Robin Swanston – 22 pts (back 3=5) and 4th Wayne Niles – 22 pts (back 3=4). Competition was intense but the two lowest handicap players Steve Duckett and Laurie Burn still managed to score su cient birdies to ensure that they led the eld by a comfortable margin. Division 1: 1st Steve Duckett – 26 pts, 2nd Laurie Burn – 25 pts, 3rd Malcolm Guy – 23 pts and 4th Steve Duckett with the Ron Waters Shield RON WATERS SHIELD On Tuesday 5th December, a cloudy, cold but fortunately reasonably dry day, New Forest Golf Club Seniors member Dave Scott was nearing the end of his round having begun from the 15th in the shotgun start. Using his 9 iron on the 13th tee, he sent his ball soaring gracefully over the right hand bunker to land on the green, roll down and drop into the hole. A erwards he was heard to remark that it had only taken him 40 years to achieve this, his rst ever hole-in-one! As is the tradition at New Forest Golf Club Seniors, instead of Dave having to buy drinks all round, all those present donated to the Seniors Captain’s charity “Sophie’s Legacy”.
