Over £700,000 has been raised, primarily from the community, as well as a government grant in order to acquire, renovate and equip Chapel Stores to transform it into the wonderful shop and community space it is today. At twice the size of the previous village shop, Chapel Stores is able to o er a boarder range of products, with a particular focus on local produce including products from: New Forest Fruit Farms, New Forest Botanics, Watsons Honey from Norleywood, New Forest Ice Cream, Forest Edge Co ee Roasting, Jams and Chutneys from Ewelina’s Pantry, Beaulieu Chocolate Studio, Vibrant Forest Beers and Wilton Wholefoods. Every morning bread, pasties and sandwiches John Illsley cutting the ribbon will be freshly made by volunteers in the store’s own kitchen. Chapel Stores also provides a vibrant local hub with a exible community space that will host a pop up café once a week, workshops and exhibitions, including one on the Chapel’s long and fascinating history. Working in partnership with St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery in Lymington, a free exhibition of AW Seaby Woodcuts and Watercolours is currently open at Chapel Stores in the old Vestry until 16th April (closes one hour before shop closes). Chapel Stores can be found in Chapel Lane, East Boldre SO42 7WP, the opening hours are Monday–Friday, 8am-6pm; Saturday, 8am-5.30pm and Sunday, 8.30am-noon.
