Followed on Tuesday 16th April for ‘Vienna the Waltz City’ by Christopher Legrand. Tea and biscuits are available a er the talk, and the meeting ends at approximately 3.30pm. New Forest and Waterside have many interest groups such as gardening, history, discussion, skittles and much more. ere is usually a luncheon once a month and a holiday once a year. Other activities have included a visit to Hilliers for the lights, Lepe House open garden, theatre trips, garden visits, local brewery visit, snowdrops at Welford, the Hawk Conservancy, Arundel Carpet of owers and the Waterside Heritage Centre. If you are interested in joining this friendly group please go along on the first or third Tuesday in the month to St Andrew’s Church Hall, Dibden Purlieu, meetings commence at 2pm or email the Secretary: u3a.nfwsecretary@outlook.com Family History Group A small group of enthusiastic people who love delving into your family history and nding out all about your roots meet in the back room at Soul Café, North Road, Dibden Purlieu (the Methodist church) usually on the first Tuesday of each month. (Not in August) ere is so much that can now be explored online, they o er a self-help approach but more experienced members are on hand to provide guidance. ey are always open to new members who are welcome to go along to see what they are about. eir next meeting is on Tuesday 2nd April at 7.30pm. FOREST MILITARIA e next New Forest Militaria Fair will be on Wednesday 3rd April from 7pm to 9.30pm in the Colbury Church Rooms, Deerleap Lane, Colbury (near Ashurst) SO40 7EH. ere are stalls o ering a variety of militaria items, and these events are an ideal venue for dealers, collectors and enthusiasts to get together to buy, sell, swap, exhibit and talk about all aspects of militaria. HYTHE WIVES Arthur Prouse entertained the Hythe Wives with a music quiz at their March meeting. On 5th April, Jane Glennie will be giving a talk about Jane Austen’s best friend and 19th April, Mark Heighway will speak about “the secrets of Beaulieu and surround.” Meetings are held on 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month at St. Andrew’s Church Hall, Dibden Purlieu between 2pm and 4pm and visitors are most welcome. One Life becomes a half-memory piece as the older Winton (Anthony Hopkins) comes to terms with what he did in his youth and a war movie as the younger Winton (Johnny Flynn) races to save more lives.
