v THE HERALD - PART OF YOUR COMMUNITY v 28th March 2024 • The HERALD • Page 45 WE CARE, YOU CARE Forget-me-not Singing Club Forget-me-not Singing Club is a fun and friendly singing club for people living with dementia. e club is led by folk singer-songwriter and Natural Voice trained choir leader, Amy Hopwood and runs on Fridays from 2pm to 3.30pm at Brockenhurst Methodist Church Hall, Avenue Road, Brockenhurst, SO42 7RT. e club is aimed at people living with dementia and their friends, relatives and carers, but anyone else who just fancies a good sing is very welcome to join too. Each session is £3 per person including Amy Hopwood (Credit Tobias Raven) free tea/co ee and biscuits. They have a mix of meetings with speakers or entertainment, quizzes or bingo followed by tea and biscuits, sometimes cake! Find them at St John’s Hall, New Road, Hythe SO45 6BP on the first and third Thursday of each month from 1.45pm to 4pm. Join them on Thursday 4th April for a talk by Michael O’Leary titled ‘Tangled Talk’, Thursday 18th April for a Social, Thursday 2nd May for a Social and Thursday 16th May for a talk by Steve Herra titled ‘ e Chocolate Cream Killer’. Waterside and Totton Goodneighbours have been busy recruiting new volunteers to help us in Totton. We now have availability to help clients aged 55+ in the Totton area with small practical tasks such as shopping, local medical appointments, picking up prescriptions. Waterside and Totton Goodneighbours from Age Concern New Forest Age Concern New Forest run a Computers at Home Service, with 3 volunteers providing a 1-to-1 service for clients needing help to gain more con dence or knowledge with their mobile phones, iPads, tablets, laptops and computers. e volunteers provide a 1 hour session at a subsidised cost of £5 and a maximum of 6 sessions can be booked. Computers at Home Service Age Concern New Forest foot clinics are operating for local people aged 55+. They offer Toenail cutting for £20 or Toe & Fingernails for £25. The registered Podiatrists and Chiropodists are also able to give foot care advice and information on other treatments available. If you wish to book a foot care appointment, cancel or amend one, please contact the o ce on: 023 8084 1199. A message can be le on the answer machine and they will return your call. Waterside Good Neighbours volunteers can help with transport if required.
