Let’s Pick Up That Litter! Even the rain held o when members of Hythe & Waterside Rotary were joined by members of the public to hold a litter pick in the local area. Even a couple of very well behaved dogs took part! Between them, two groups covered areas in Applemore/Roman Road, Holbury and Dibden Purlieu to bag up an array of litter, some of which could be recycled. Hythe & Waterside Rotary President Jim Whitehouse said: “It is quite amazing how many bags we are able to fill in an hour or so at each venue. We hope we are making a difference to the local environment by holding these regular litter picks.” If you would like to get involved in future litter picks and/or beach cleans, please email: secretary@hytherotary. org.uk Litter pickers with some of their haul When 13 year old Natasha Schrader was selected to attend the Essex Scout and Guide Jamboree 2024, she threw herself into some serious fundraising to cover the costs involved. As well as baking and selling delicious cookies she contacted Hythe & Waterside Rotary who agreed to make a donation of £200. Natasha went along to one of the H&W Rotary meetings to explain about her fundraising and what she hopes to get out of attending the annual Jamboree.
