Thanks go to their committee for enabling Minstead Trust to take part in this way. On the Sunday, Emma, supported by her Mum, Dad and Nan, honed her sales skills, developing her patter and also having the important job of collecting the money and giving change. Lots of programmes were sold and they were extremely successful and sold out of their allocation of programmes. Other sta from the Trust also helped out selling programmes at di erent times. Jo – Emma’s Mum said: “We all had a fun time, we were very successful and sold out of programmes, hopefully we can do it again next year, we loved helping.” Emma with her family on the day Hythe and Dibden Community Centre Briefing from Hythe and Dibden Community Centre is is the next of a series of ‘brie ngs’ which we hope will be of interest to readers regarding the Community Centre and its hirers. is time it’s the ‘Jingle Ladies’ who are a small group of friends who came together in 2018 to share their love of music, and create a fun atmosphere to sing and learn new songs. eir rst o cial engagements were at Badgers Holt and Little Haven Care Homes, where they helped to mark the centenary of end of WW1 by singing some of the wartime songs to the residents. Since then the ‘Jinglers’ (as they are a ectionately known) have grown in con dence and now arrange regular visits to local care homes as well as performing at local events throughout the year. e singing group love what they do and have always believed that life is better when you sing, so they o er their time on a voluntary basis and free of charge. Over the past six years the Jingle Ladies have raised in excess of £3,000 to support a number of di erent charity organisations, including Honeypot Children’s Charity, Oakhaven Hospice, Macmillan Cancer Support, Ukraine and the Turkey/Syria Earthquake Appeal. is year they will be raising funds for the RNLI at their annual Christmas Concert in Black eld Baptist Church on Saturday 14th December. It is a free event with refreshments and excellent ra e prizes - so it is a date not to be missed! All donations received will go to the local RNLI. In other news: We have decided to reinstate the ‘Games A ernoon’. is will now take place on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month from 2pm to 4pm. We have a selection of games, or please bring your own if you have a favourite that you would like to share. As before, the cost will be £2 which includes a hot drink and a slice of cake. MINIBUS TO MOZART Rounding o their 50th Anniversary year, Southampton Choral Society are proud to be presenting Mozart’s beautiful Requiem in the wonderful surroundings of Romsey Abbey at 7.30pm on Saturday 19th October. ey are combining this with his Solemn Vespers so it will be a full evening of Mozart. As usual a minibus will be provided from Hythe so that anyone who wishes to go will have easy transport available.
