Lion Treasurer Sandra Trowbridge presented the most recent food donation to Beth Tanton at the Romsey Foodbank. e Lions continue to support three foodbanks at regular intervals, the other two in Nursling and Waterside having received similar donations. In total over £5,500 of food has been donated by the Lions to the Foodbanks since the start of the pandemic. Lion Treasurer Sandra Trowbridge is presenting the most recent food donation to Beth Tanton at the Romsey Foodbank Patient Champions are volunteers who themselves are patients from all of the local surgeries. ey work within the Waterside PCN GP practices to support patients through community activities. ey promote healthy lifestyles through signposting patients to relevant services and information and provide opportunities for individuals to make positive behavioural changes through activities aimed at improving their health and wellbeing. Currently they have 4 groups running which are: a monthly walk, a chance to be outside with others to chat and enjoy the lovely country side, you can also take your dogs along for the walk too. is group runs on the first Friday of each month and meet at Dibden Inclosure at 12noon. e IT for health group supports patients to access Health apps and navigate the NHS app, supporting them to view appointments, check test results and order repeat prescriptions. A book group runs each month, a chance to have a catch up on that months book and enjoy a chat with the group. ey also run monthly drop in co ee mornings at St John’s Hall in Hythe from 11.30am-1.30pm running on the following dates: Thursday 26th September, Thursday 31st October and Thursday 28th November. Refreshments and cake are provided, it’s a welcoming environment and everyone is invited to pop in for a chat, meet the patient champions and enjoy being part of the community.
