Running from 21st October – 4th November, highlights of the festival will include the Book Lovers Lunch with talent from the forest and its fringes. e festival is run by a steering group made up of local residents, writers and organisations including St Barbe, Forest Arts Centre, Culture in Common, the New Forest District Council, and the New Forest National Park Authority, coordinated by the Solent’s literature development organisation ArtfulScribe, with other partners and supporters including Hampshire Cultural Trust, Artswork, MAST May ower Studios, Hampshire Libraries, Coda Music, the Imaginarium bookshop, Fluid Motion eatre Company and Spud. is festival wouldn’t be possible without support from Arts Council England. Last year walkers raised just over £90,000 for 115 charities. e Test Way is constantly rated one of the top 10 best walks in the area and each year this event draws interest from many groups from families, Schools, Scout packs, charities and businesses all walking and raising funds to support the vital work that charities do. e walk is fun and suitable for all ages and abilities, with 5 distances to choose from (5, 8, 11, 16 or 25.5 miles). Walkers are taken by private coach from Romsey to their starting location and end the walk back in Romsey at the Memorial Park.
