Trying to nd the right help can be di cult. I became a driving instructor over 20 years ago and from the outset developed an interest in helping people to love driving as much as I do. With years of experience I moved my teaching style to a coaching and individualised approach which aimed to put the fun and freedom back in to driving for many new and less new drivers. is helped me become a Grade A driving instructor and specialise in helping nervous and anxious drivers get onto, or back onto the road. My approach has enabled me to support a range of pupils who have communication di culties such as hearing impairment, English as a second language and many successes with people who have a learning disability. When quali ed drivers seek my help, it’s most o en because of nerves or anxiety experienced whilst driving, which may even be related to an incident. ey are usually worried that this is e ecting or will e ect their life. Many people feel isolated when experiencing these issues, feel that they are the only ones that su er from this and feel it is di cult to nd the right help. is is the reason I do what I do. You may be surprised to know this is far more common than you think, and from day 1 I will aim to put you at ease and create a pathway to get you back where you want to be, driving with con dence. Working together we can identify the issues and look at techniques and strategies to deal with them. Although this is normally done in the car, I also provide help through online meetings, telephone conversations or even through email. I also spent that last 2 years working with the NHS to provide training for Nurses and Allied Health Professionals working in the community. is has been a wonderful experience and o en reassures nervous drivers that they will be in in safe hands. My goal is to build con dence with all of our drivers from 17 to 77 and beyond. To support this I have taken additional training, so I can employ a variety of techniques to suit each pupil’s needs. I moved my vehicle to being an automatic car for this speci c reason. e help I provide doesn’t have to be restricted to our automatic car, I can help you gain con dence in your own car or support you with advice or guidance over the phone or email.
