With the white tees positioned as far back as they could possibly go it was going to be a tall order. Division 2’s Frank Lockley came close with a great round of nett 66, but in Division 1, Graham Wyatt’s 12 pars and nothing higher than a bogey resulted in a magnificent seven under par nett 62, to win him the Humphries Cup which will be presented at the New Forest Golf Club AGM later in the year. Division 1: 1st Graham Wyatt nett 62, 2nd Andrew Godwin nett 66 (back 9=30, back 6=18), 3rd Ross Matthews nett 66 (back 9=30, back 6=19), 4th Steve Duckett nett 66 (back 9=32). Division 2: 1st Frank Lockley nett 66, 2nd Ted Groves nett 68, 3rd John Ireland nett 69, 4th Phil Kilburn nett 70 (back 9=32). Commiserations to Mike Wharton also with nett 70 but 33 on the back 9.
