H&D took the lead through last seasons top scorer, Chloe Adams, scoring her rst goal of the pre-season campaign and will be one to watch this year. H&Ds new Head of Women’s Football Luke Smith said: “We are so lucky to have been accepted by such an established club. Becoming the first ever Hythe & Dibden Women’s team as well as in the Waterside area as a whole is an honour and we intend on building on that with what we hope are more trophies to add to the clubhouse trophy cabinet Everyone has been so welcoming! Dave and Vanessa Cox have treated us like we have been a part of the club for years and now new Chairman Chris Copley has shared the vision of progressing Women’s football in the Waterside Area. Last year, as Eling Ladies, we had a remarkable campaign, winning a league title in our inaugural A local lady recently came into e Herald O ce asking us to remind drivers to be considerate when driving in wet weather. e 82 year old had been running along Fawley Road in Hythe and had stopped on the pavement to walk around a puddle, whilst she was stopped a large car drove through ood water on the road with such force that the spray knocked her over. She said she was lucky not to be hurt and was concerned that if it was to happen to someone frailer than her, they could have come o a lot worse. So please be mindful of pedestrians when driving through puddles on the road. Under section three of the Road Tra c Act 1988, it may be deemed illegal to splash someone as it could be classed as ‘driving without reasonable consideration for other persons’, which can result in a ne and penalty points on your licence. Reminder for Drivers to be Considerate to Pedestrians During Wet Weather initial expectations and have now been placed by the leagues committee in Division 3 due to how they restructure leagues based on performances and fairness to all teams competing in each league. Whilst we are realistic with this seasons expectations, given the jump in divisions we’ve received, our ultimate 5 year plan is to reach the 1st division in Hampshire and push towards regional. I believe that we now have a top 10 facility out of the women’s teams in Hampshire and with the partnership with the girls section at H&D Youth there’s a very bright future.” To get involved and join the club please search Hythe & Dibden Women on Social Media and contact us. season. Starting in Hampshire Divsion 6 with a group of new players was daunting but we succeeded beyond all
