Whether you are a complete beginner, haven’t picked a bat up in a while or a seasoned player; they have superb facilities for everyone. ere are over 20 tables based in the sports hall at Testwood School, with changing rooms, toilets, snacks and drinks available. MEMBERS DAY 48 New Forest Golf Club Seniors turned up in unexpectedly damp and overcast weather on ursday15th August. Fortunately very little rain fell, but increasing wind speed made conditions quite di cult at times. e competition which is now in its second year featured a Pinehurst/Chapman Strokeplay format using 50% of each pair’s aggregate course handicaps, competing for the Members Day Claret Jug. In addition to the trophy, there were several other prizes including nearest the pins on four of the holes. e competition was surprisingly close, all 4 winning pairs ending up with the same 59 nett score, but Dave Barrett and Terry Jones emerged winners with their brilliant back 9 score of just 24 nett. 1st Dave Barrett and Terry Jones nett 59 (back 9=24), 2nd Barry Nicholas and Neil Edmondson nett 59 (back 9=26), 3rd Steve Duckett and Mike Wharton nett 59 (back 9=28, back 6=18, back 3=10), 4th Pete Bennett and Phil Walker nett 59 (back 0=28, back 6=18, back 3=11).
