Coihve (pronounced Keeva) was a Year 2 pupil and received the award for her community work, including litter picking and helping to keep the school grounds well-tended. She requested that the donation be put towards buying gardening equipment for a school project to develop the garden and vegetable patch. It would be an a er school club attended by pupils from Successful October for RNLI Hythe and Calshot Fundraising Branch RNLI Hythe and Calshot Fundraising Branch had a successful October with two fundraisers: they thank ASDA Totton for inviting them to hold a collection on Saturday 5th October. They raised £320.84 for RNLI Calshot Lifeboat Station and wish to thank all who donated. Winning team - Four Pints of Guinness please en, on Monday 21st October, the Branch held a pub quiz and ra e at Ebenezer’s in Hythe. anks, as ever, to Ryan, Georgia, Henry (the Quizmaster) and the team for the venue, as well as the various quiz teams who took part. e winning team was ‘Four Pints of Guinness please’ and an impressive £315 was raised on the night. across the school. e idea would be to grow and cook, teaching key skills and responsibilities. A cheque for £75 has been passed to the Head, Emma Moakes for this purpose. Coihve receiving her award from Tim Parsons and Rotarian Craig Webber LOCAL LIONS RECOGNISED FOR HELPING UKRAINE Romsey & Waterside Lions have received recognition and thanks for their part in the International Lions ‘Winter is coming to Ukraine 2’ appeal. e club made a generous donation to the appeal, which was su cient to pay for two wood stoves to help families in the south east region of Ukraine. Lions Clubs International and Lions Clubs International Foundation have achieved over $1,200,000 in fundraising for this critical project as a whole including the donation from Romsey & Waterside Lions. With the generous contributions from Lions members and supporters worldwide, the project, which originated in Finland, has produced and distributed much-needed wood stoves to families in the region. ese stoves not only o er a reliable source of heat during harsh winters but also ensure a safe and e cient means of cooking and heating for thousands of households a ected by ongoing challenges. WATERSIDE VETERANS COFFEE CLUB The Waterside Veterans Coffee Club is held on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 10am at Fawley Royal British Legion, Exbury Road, Black eld, SO45 1XD, with their next meeting scheduled for Saturday 16th November. All veterans, serving personnel, their families and dependents are invited to attend and enjoy the usually good humour, refreshments and occasional visiting guests.
