Renowned local pianist and piano teacher Kirsty Purves will be accompanying her previous pupil Ben Carter when he plays jazz saxophone at the concert. As featured in e Herald in September, as a teenager Ben busked at local events such as Rock e Pier and for bucket collections for Honeypot, before joining Southampton Youth Jazz Orchestra and studying at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. is will be his rst performance locally since releasing his debut album ‘Pulsar’ with his band. Kirsty was Ben’s piano teacher, encouraging him to enjoy music from the age of 5. e concert will also include performances from the Funky Little Choir Company, King Edward VI Preparatory School Choir and harpist Amy Pritchard, who also works at Honeypot House providing much needed respite for young carers aged 5-12. is concert takes place during Honeypot’s Hopes and Dreams Christmas Match Funding Appeal, so ra e ticket sales and donations made on the night, will be doubled by their generous match funder. Funds raised will help young carers to achieve their greatest wishes: freedom to play, success in school, making new friends, or simply relief from stress and worry.
