Santa will be in his Grotto and Polar Pete will be making an appearance – he loves having his photo taken with the children. Entertainment this year consists of a local choir, New Forest Brass Band and some fun with the Southampton Ukulele Jam. e donkeys will be giving rides to the children again; this is always a favourite. You will nd an abundance of stalls, both inside the Jubilee Hall and outside in the Square. Refreshments will be available from the committee and other food and drink vendors will be available. Charles Coles Fun Fair will be there, but please be aware that we have no control over the pricing for this. Parking is free and available at the Salterns Lane Car Park (Courtesy of Exxon), please be mindful also host a Christmas Senior Party for residents to enjoy. Drop in for a biscuit or two washed down with a co ee or tea plus, of course, the chance to meet up with friends and perhaps make some new ones. is is a free event, with the option of giving a small donation if you wish. All are welcome. We look forward to meeting you there. According to the organisation “Campaign to End Loneliness” (www. campaigntoendlioneliness. org) we live in a country where nearly 26 million adults confess to being lonely at some time in their lives, be it just occasionally or more o en, with nearly 4 million saying that they are lonely most of the time. With the closure of St Francis Church it has highlighted the lack of amenities for residents within Langley. In the not-too-distant past, there were shops and a church hall as well as the Langley Tavern Public House that o ered the chance for residents to come together. We are fortunate to still have e Langley as part of our local resources whilst the rest have disappeared. One of Langley Hub’s aims is to try and provide events, for the Langley residents, to come together without travelling too far from Langley.
