Arrive early to secure the best selection. Not a Member Yet? No problem! Join on the day of the event. e event will likely be held in the marquee. Please note that there may be a short walk between the marquee and the Scrapstore shop cabin for payments. While the cabins have ramps, the ground around the marquee and cabins can be uneven. Co ee, tea and biscuits are always available in the Foyer too. All proceeds go to the Cornerstone Building Repairs Fund. e next sale is on 21st January. As we start 2025, New Forest/Waterside U3A re ect on 2024 - a year of interesting and varied talks and a variety of outings organised by members. eir membership continues to grow and their twice monthly meetings are regularly attended by over 100 members. ey started the year with Marcus Ward, of local group Wild New Forest, giving a talk about ‘A wildlife year at Lyminton/Keyhaven Marshes’. A good place to go for a walk to banish any Christmas excess! Tuesday 21st January Rosemary Legrand will give a talk on ‘Spring Gardens in Japan’. Tea and biscuits are available a er the talk, and owers, the Waterside Heritage Centre, trips on Solent Dolphin, Winchester Christmas market and a Christmas lunch at South Lawns, Milford on Sea. Currently discussions are in progress about starting a petanque (boules) group. If you are interested in joining this friendly group, please go along on the first or third Tuesday in the month or contact the secretary at: u3a. nfwsecretary@outlook.com. e meetings are held at St. Andrews Church, Dibden Purlieu and start at 2pm. You are welcome to attend two meetings as a visitor. They look forward to welcoming you to a meeting. NEW FOREST/WATERSIDE U3A the meeting ends at approximately 3.30pm. New Forest and Waterside have many interest groups such as gardening, history, discussion, skittles and much more. ere is usually a luncheon once a month, twice a year at Brockenhurst College.
