Chris Wilson, co-owner of the Balmer Lawn Hotel comments: “We are massively improving our spa and wellness offering, with a new Spa Reception and experience rooms, including a 15-person sauna, complete with volcanic salt wall, a 12-person steam room, 2 monsoon showers, and what will be the only ice room in the entire New Forest. We are also improving and upgrading the changing room facilities and anticipate that the whole project will be finished in the spring.” A er a chance encounter at a Christmas lunch with Martin Ade, one of the charity’s volunteers, Chris decided to donate the equipment. It has already been dismantled and will shortly be transported to Ukraine where it will help injured Ukrainians. Balmer Lawn Hotel & Spa John Allison, leader of New Forest for Ukraine said: “This is a fantastic donation from Chris and his team at Balmer Lawn, complementing the development of the spa facilities. We cannot thank them enough and we would like, in due course, to be able to share with them inspiring pictures of the equipment being used in Ukraine.” e new Spa development is just part of the continual upgrading of the hotel’s facilities; in the last few years, the entire ground oor has been renovated. Currently nearly 200 in number they are always keen to welcome new members. Whether you just want to be kept in touch with happenings at Lepe, want to help with park events or become a conservation or wildlife survey volunteer there is a role for you. In addition to providing volunteering opportunities the group circulates four newsletters a year and has a programme of walks, talks and social events.
