Stephen Bigley presents “Railways of Scotland in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s”. Looking at a period of transition from the “steam-agerailway-without-the-steam” (diesel trains on the West Highland line controlled by semaphore signalling, single line working and freight lines) through to Sprinters and class 66s during the short lived revival of coal tra c in the 1990’s. Geographically the spread will be from the Borders to the Far North. In addition to trains in various locations they will also be looking at everything else that makes up the railway - stations such as Glasgow Central and remote Corrour not forgetting the mighty Forth and Tay Bridges. Visitors welcome. £5 on the door. Arrive from 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
