Local Printer Continues Focus on Sustainability Sustainability continues to be front and centre for the team at Totton based Hobbs the Printers. e family run company recently received further accolades to highlight their sustainability credentials putting them at the forefront of sustainable business practices in the printing industry. In November the company gained a Platinum Medal from EcoVadis, putting them in the top 1% of the 150,000+ companies they have assessed globally. is is quite exceptional for a manufacturing operation of Hobbs’ size. e Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) have validated and published their Carbon Reduction Targets across Scopes 1, 2 and, most importantly, Scope 3 as well. Hobbs also have in place a Transition Plan that de nes their practical steps to meeting these targets. In December the Book Chain Project graded Hobbs as ‘Level 4 – Leading’ following completion of their environmental questionnaire, which is the highest level they award. The Book Chain Project is a standard used by a wide range of major publishing houses to assess sustainability across their supply chain. Organisations are graded from ‘Level 0 - Not Started’, ‘Level 1 – Beginner’, ‘Level 2 – Learning’, ‘Level 3 – Advanced’ to ‘Level 4 – Leading’.
