Each three-hour session costs just £5 and is run by the Waterside Cra Club team, with guidance from a professional sewing tutor from the local community. Whether you’re a seasoned stitcher or a complete beginner, their tutor is on hand to help you with your projects, from creating bespoke patterns and altering commercial ones to mastering bag-making techniques. Sewing Butter y o ers a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, welcoming both men and women. Participants bring their own equipment and projects, allowing for a personalised learning experience. With only 10 spaces per week, booking in advance is essential. You can also book multiple sessions at a time for added exibility. For updates follow Sewing Butter y on Facebook: www.facebook.com/sewingbutter y Sewing Butterfly NEW CREATIVE COMMISSIONS FOR THE WATERSIDE A host of new arts and creative projects and clubs are popping up across the Waterside, thanks to small community commissions from local programme Culture in Common. e commissions of up to £1500 were open to New Forest groups setting up projects for local residents that demonstrated artistic air together with real community impact. e groups were asked to consider co-design as part of their application, to make sure the club ts with the needs of the community and show how it would attract people that are not always able to access traditional clubs. Some of the creative projects funded include Dance Events in Totton and Langley, a new Poetry Club for Hythe, Cinema for young people, cra sessions for the Dementia Care Hub and a mural project for Hythe Youth Club. Culture in Common is an Arts Council funded creative people and places programme.
