Free Entry – Everyone Welcome! Music at Beaulieu is pleased to announce that its popular Good Friday ‘Sing Stainer’ concert is being re-introduced this year a er too long a break. Members of the audience are invited to sing the choruses of Stainer’s Cruci xion, along with a small chamber choir and professional soloists, conducted by Phil DaishHandy with organist Martin Penrose, who will lead the singing. ‘Sing Stainer’ always provides a good opportunity for those who enjoy singing in a large chorus to take part and for others just listening is an up-li ing experience. Copies of the score are available for those who wish to sing but do not have their own. is concert takes place at Beaulieu Abbey Church on Friday 18th April at 7pm. Doors open at 5.30pm and singers are asked to arrive by 6pm for a short rehearsal. Tickets are £10 each, details below. Earlier, on Saturday 5th April, the concert features Music for Lent as be ts the season leading up to Easter. Soprano Katherine Penrose Lewis, accompanied by the Nova Trio, gives a recital which includes music by Wesley, Mendelssohn and Franck. Katherine trained as a cathedral chorister in Exeter before embarking on her career as a soloist. She was awarded the Young Soloist of the Year prize at the Hampshire Young Soloist competition in 2024. Doors for this concert open at 6.15pm and the concert starts at 7pm. Tickets are £15 each.
