Lasting Powers of Attorney: As well as assisting with nancial bene ts we can help you apply for Lasting Powers of Attorney. It is o en a great shock to people to discover that being their loved one’s next of kin, they do not have the legal right to make decisions for them. A lasting power of attorney (LPA) is a legal document that lets you appoint one or more people to help you make decisions or to make decisions on your behalf. ere are two types, one for health and care decisions and one for nancial decisions. is gives you more control over what happens to you if you have an accident or an illness and cannot make your own decisions. We have information booklets available in the o ce which help explain Lasting Powers of Attorney in more detail or you can ring us for a chat. We are able to complete the forms for you so they are ready to be registered with the O ce of the Public Guardian, but we are not able to give legal advice. We do request a donation for this service. If you want to discuss applying for the bene ts listed above or applying for Lasting Powers of Attorney, please visit us in our Age Concern New Forest O ce in Hythe at 19-20 Marsh Parade, Hythe, SO45 6AN or ring us on: 023 8084 1199 or 023 8202 7595.
